There's definitely a humongous divide between the way the mating game is played out in the west and that in the east.
If you observe closely finding yourself a short term or a long term partner in the west appears to be a direct throwback to the paleolithic age wherein carnal instincts roused the primordial hunter to a fiery intensity resulting in baiting , ensnaring and finally the ultimate sexual conquest - consummation without marriage of course !! The mating game of yore still persists albeit now it is a slightly-watered-down version of the primeval ritual. The mating ground has changed from the desolate and dangerous forests to the safe, cosy and reassuring environs of pubs , clubs, restaurants and even workplaces. Only the vestige of the primordial barbarianism remains and is , in most cases , skillfully camouflaged by a veneer of social etiquette. The parameters of yore though still remain the decisive factors in deciding the course this game takes. The male lusts ( well not a politically correct word but what the heck!) after the female physical form and endeavours to establish sexual compatibility. The female plays the sought-after prize and tries to determine the physical prowess of the male in being able to satiate her sexually , protect her from other beasts lurking around (yeah the milkman/postman funda lol), ability to procreate leading to healthy offsprings and being able to cater to the needs of the soon-to-follow family.
Things might have lost their rough edges courtsey civilisation but they still continue to be the 'motivating' factors.
So the male animals and female animals meet on the mating ground , talk ,gauge ,bait , try to charm each other, ward off animals against whom the instincts cry out and the game goes on.
What say ya?
