Reality is more amusing than fiction. Ravi Shankar's daughter never used his name or reference is on top of the world today. Anoushka on the other hand, trained by the legend himself, will she ever get this kind of success?

Think about it Dhurru,

Ravi Shankar ki mixed feelings - perfect masaala for bollywood movie. Even a perfect masaala for hollywood movie!!

She did not even mention him once! Why would she? She is raised by her mom! ... unbelievable success in music but not Indian classical.

Makes me think Gene ki baat hai ya kuchh aur!

actually in this case ravishankar has acted like 'sperm donor' than like a father. He hardly deserves to be called her father.

He dumped the lady even before the child was born!

Yes, On the other hand he is father and guru of Anoushka. She may not get this sucessful as her genre is Indian classical not Jazz. Teens are the major buyers of music in USA and I doubt that they'll buy her "world music".

Who cares about what happened with her parents ??? Enjoy the fact that an ethnic Indian-American is on the front page of all the mainstream newspapers for such a prestigious award !! This will help make a better image for India in the US.

Last time I saw, the only Puki/Bangy/mullah country ppl on the front page were terrorists.

a part of the song that ColdPlay performed. I did nto watch Grammys... Find them too boring.. These days.. the show is quite long in duration and ... who cares... I am pastthat Grammy craze... Its just a bunch of people patting each other....

I dont watch it for one explicit reason - the very boring and cliched "Oh I wish to thank this and that one and oh I coudl not have got this without.. blah blah blah " :yawn:

anoushka is a big hypocrite , she is doomed to fail in long run .In short run media hype will carry her for some distance. She will only end up as a trumpeteer of her fathers screwing escapades .

can somebody talk about their talents than wat kinds of people they are and all... kaam dhaam to hai nahi tum logonko aaltu faaltu ke baatein leke baith jaate ho:D I bet none of u knows wat those 5 grammies she won are for:rolleyes:

ur more interested in who raised her, whose sperm it was and all that bullshit... indians after all:rolleyes: :down:

I just read a bit on ravi shankar's first wife annapurna devi.

it is heart rending to read about her. The gifted musician, the daughter of ravi shankar's guru and brother of one of the best known sarod players, many musicians have vouched that she is MORE talented than ravishankar. But she has refused to perform for ages now, hardly allows public to gaze into her solitary life, lives a life of total recluse in a bombay flat. Till now she performs in front of the photos of her father and mother everyday.

I had read an interview by her long time back on how ravishankar used and ditched her systematically. carries lot of bitterness against him.
