To whom should the nation blame?

The Quaid-i-Azam while assuming the office of the Governor General he has said, “The Pakistan which, I envision will have democratic system based on consciousness and righteousness of its rulers.

It is my belief that our salvation lies in adopting the true democratic set-up, our decisions in the affairs of the state shall be guided by the discussions and consultations.

The activities of the rulers must be monitored to his men.

It will bring a good effect to the conditions of the people.

Pakistan will have no discriminatory status for any individual or group.

No one will enjoy any special privileges, all citizens shall have equal rights.

“I will never like any exploitation of the poor, bureaucrats shall take themselves as the servants of the people”.

Once Col Burney suggested to the Quaid-i-Azam that for the security purposes the walls of the Government House should be raised but the Quaid did not agree to it, and said I don’t feel any need of this extravaganza.

In the history of Pakistan we observe that no ruler of Pakistan has tried to fulfil the dreams of the Quaid.

No elected ruler adopted any charter to spell out his duties or obligations for his people.

The Quaid maintained that if the ruler does not accompany the materialistic uphold he would be helpless to win the good public opinion in his favour.

All the elected civilian governments along with their representatives, indulged in money minting activities and fraudulent extraction of wealth, everyone in the government did his best to benefit from his position.

Development funds were dished out to the favourites, special ordinances were promulgated to provide maximum facilities to the elected representatives.

The elected civilian governments have always tried to benefit from the maximum use of propaganda and went vengeful to every opposition which resulted in bad governance.

It did not provide peace of mind or better glory to its people and did not make them better in human terms.

The efforts on government level have not succeeded to eradicate poverty and many other social evils because of half-hearted efforts on official level.

The democracy means a government of shared power, but unfortunately in our country leaders are not accustomed to it.

Democracy is accorded an acclaim throughout the world but in Pakistan it brings a sense of insecurity and helplessness to the people as not a singular civilian government has succeeded in minimising the sufferings of the people or took the human welfare as duty.

In Islam the government and the morality have been in tandem, associated or commitment.

Islam does not have any politics and it is not a political religion, in this polemic this is decided that in our country we need such democratic system which should be based on consciousness and righteousness of the rulers.

The rulers much have a framework within which they may find a guideline of practice and not just lecturing or admonishing.

The conscious and religion based governments, have direct effect on the relation with the people.

In Islam based rule the ruler is much subjected to the rules and the laws as an ordinary man.

Admittedly, our political structure and the activities of the elected civil government have been responsible for the constitutional abrogation.

The political culture has been supportive to the military intervention.

Every elected government has been toppled down by the military.

God knows better when the people of Pakistan will get the right of their destiny and to choose their leaders, who will serve them according to their wishes and demands.

More than one year has passed off but the military regime is still setting the stage.

Only an accountability activity is in progress as yet, some amount has been recovered (according to the NAB) but it has not been yet spent on the betterment for the poor.

An overwhelming sense of fear is prevailing and problems of the people are increasing day by day.

Daily increase in prices of basic commodities and the high amounts of the utility bills have forced the common people to commit suicide or setting themselves ablaze publicly.

The situation has developed so severe that people are so motivated as even to take their lives.

The soaring sugar prices the raise in the fares of public transport, the level of police persecution on the infallible people has brought an absolute sense of insecurity to the people.

The military government seems helpless to control the situation.

It is absolute essential that competent and professionals should be brought into the cabinets.

The only difference between the past military rulers and the present is that they did not involve themselves in vendetta-work against their predecessors and they played a role of surgeon than the butcher.

But like all the past military rulers they are rhetoric for their plans to be implemented for the betterment of the people or to improve upon the social set-up.

The main reason for the miserable condition of the poor class is that no government has tried to adopt the Islamic economic system in its true form.

In the Islamic system the treasury in reality is the property of the people.

In the Commonwealth states every member is entitled to an allowance out of the income of the state.

There is no place for feudal or absentee landlords.

In this system many expenses of the government are met from the land revenue.

The actual tillers of the land deposit the half income of their lands in the state treasury, collected through the taxes.

Due to a faulty tax system in Pakistan most of the tax money is evaded.

Our whole tax system needs to be overhauled.

A directory of income tax should be published so that the general public should know the assets of their leaders in power.

Our minister for finance no doubt is an expert and much professional in this field but he has not yet succeeded in bringing about any uplift to the economy or betterment to the affairs of our morbid industry, because of the way of tackling our economy on the pattern of the West.

The slogans of Islamisation were used by a number of the past rulers but that was just an instrument to prolong the period of their rule.

Nawaz Sharif, the deposed Prime Minister, enforced the Shariah Bill in the National Assembly only to perpetuate his power.

Earlier, General (late) Zia-ul-Haq had presented himself as ‘Fakhi’ for the nation, but all that tactics were used to befool the people.

now General Musharraf is at the helm of affairs.

He has also given the public the slogan of empowering the people at grass root level through devolution of power.

If most of the administrative powers are transferred to half literate people of a society riddled with divisions due to multiple reasons what will be the outcome?
